FAQ
All of our associate therapists are licensed with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, and Psychotherapy services are covered under many extended health benefit plans! However, it is always best to check with your particular provider and plan for exact coverage details. Every plan differs, and many different plans exist within the same insurance company, or even the same workplace. Check with your provider before booking a session to make sure Psychotherapy is covered under your unique plan! Unfortunately private therapy is not covered by OHIP.
Whether you can claim life coaching services through your workplace insurance depends on your specific insurance plan and its coverage details. Most standard workplace insurance plans do not cover life coaching services, as these services are typically considered non-medical and not usually included in standard health benefits.
However, some workplace insurance plans offer additional wellness or employee assistance programs (EAPs) that might include access to coaching services or related resources. To get accurate information, we recommend checking the details of your specific plan or contacting your insurance directly.
All of our coaching services range fees. Coaching packages are available for individual/couples or group. Fees ranges from a minimum of $100 per individual session. Our therapist have a fee from $150 for individuals, and $190 for couples/ family sessions.
A credit card will be saved to your file at the start of sessions, and this will be charged after your sessions. Receipts are sent promptly by email. If you do not have a credit card, we can also take payments in the form of e-transfer which is required prior to your session.
Committing to a Coaching session or therapy is an important decision! In the first couple of sessions, our coaches and counselors will in collaboration with you, will determine if the relationship is a good fit and complete an intake assessment. Once we have explored your background, we will collaboratively outline your goals and develop a personalized plan. The number of sessions will be based on your specific needs, but this is something we would discuss and visit frequently throughout the duration of your process. Sessions are 60 minutes long.
We offer both of these options, so the choice is yours! In addition to in-person sessions at our office, the sessions can be done via secure online video through Zoom (Coaching), OWL (for therapy) or over the phone. Commonly, people want to know if meeting online or on the phone is as effective as face-to-face sessions and, in our experience, yes - it absolutely can be. If you prefer to come in-person, we just ask that you please stay home if you are feeling sick. You can always switch to a virtual session if needed! If you don't know what you would prefer, try a session and see how you feel about it. You are welcome to switch between in-person and virtual sessions whenever you would like to.
Couples and family sessions is different from individual sessions because the focus of the work will be on the relationship(s). Both members of the couple, or all members of the family, will be present in the first session so the Coach/therapist can get to know all of you at the same time. The Coach/therapist will help identify the goals for the relationship(s), and will work towards meeting those goals, together.
Regarding therapy: If you are seeing an individual Coach/therapist, it is important that you see a different therapist for couples/ family therapy. Unfortunately, it is a conflict of interest for the therapist to offer couples/ family therapy, and individual therapy to the same client.
Whether you would benefit more from group coaching or individual coaching depends on your personal preferences, goals, and the specific circumstances you're facing. This can be determined in collaboration with your Life Coach in your first session.
Group coaching provides a sense of community, where you can connect with others who may share similar struggles, goals, or challenges. It offers a supportive environment for learning and growth together.
Limitation of group coaching
Less Personal Focus: You may not get the same level of individualized attention as you would in one-on-one coaching.
Group Dynamics: If you're not comfortable sharing in a group or prefer more privacy, group coaching might feel less effective for you.
If your child is 12 years or younger, your Coach or therapist will discuss the possibilities of you attending sessions. Children over 12 will not be accompanied by parents in the session unless otherwise permitted. Sessions are to encourage openness, trust, safety, foster independence, responsibility and allow for personal reflections, build boundaries and confidence.
While parents play a vital role in a teen’s life, not having parents present in coaching/therapy sessions creates a space where the teen can be more open, explore their own thoughts and emotions, and gain independence. It allows the coaching process to focus entirely on the teen's needs, development, and empowerment. Parents may still be involved in the overall process, but typically in a supportive, separate capacity to avoid interference with the teen’s personal growth during sessions.
